"Amand and his team have been doing stunts for VLDL videos for the past few years and it has brought our skits to the next level. It's constantly pointed out by the fans how amazing they are. Great commitment to high quality stunt performance with a fantastic knowledge of video game monster and player movement." ----- Adam (Owner/Producer/Director - Viva La Dirt League)
"Amand Weaver and his team is our go-to person for stunt work for Viva La Dirt League. He is incredibly passionate about his craft and a very thorough coordinator. His team delivers what we wish every time and they work creatively with our directors to suit our budgets. One of his strengths is that he really empowers actors with less experience in stunt work and makes them feel confident to perform." ----- Raluca (Producer - Viva La Dirt League)

"Amand was a generous and enthusiastic collaborator on our feature film. Not only did he make our cast feel safe, he was incredibly gracious in his experience and you could tell that he was just as excited as myself or the performers when the choreography landed right! I look forward to hopefully working together again in the future." ----- Logan (Director - unreleased feature film currently in post)

"In our short film Breathe, the stunt was not only essential to the plot but also needed to be visually striking. Amand provided the perfect solution for this - creatively solving the challenges with incredible rigging and ensuring safety throughout. But most importantly he is a great human being to hang out on set." ----- Stephen (Director - Breathe)
ABOUT
Amand Weaver has worked in the screen industry for more than 35 years, contributing both in front of the camera and across a wide range of production departments. With a solid background in martial arts, he began his stunt career in 1995 on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, later doubling and performing in a variety of television series and films throughout Aotearoa and overseas.
After several years working as an assistant director, Amand returned to stunt work with a renewed focus on mastering the fundamentals of action design, performance, and rigging. Over time he has built a reputation for turning complex ideas into practical, safe, and visually striking stunt sequences. Colleagues consistently describe him as a creative problem‑solver who brings precision, calm leadership, and a strong safety‑first mindset to every project. Performers often comment on his clear communication, supportive teaching style, and the confidence he inspires in others.
Amand’s work spans stunt performance, stunt doubling, fire work, weaponry, fight choreography, wire rigging, and full stunt coordination. His approach blends technical rigging expertise with a collaborative, solutions‑focused attitude, making him a valued partner on productions ranging from short films to large‑scale international projects.
Alongside his screen work, Amand teaches at the New Zealand Stunt School, where he shares his extensive experience with emerging performers.
